20 December 2016
Steven Hearn, patron of Audencia Business School’s MSc in Management & Entrepreneurship in the Creative Economy.

Steven Hearn, emblematic figure of cultural entrepreneurship  in France, has become the first patron of the new MSc in Management & Entrepreneurship in the Creative Economy announced in October 2016 by Audencia Business School in partnership with Glasgow School of Art.

New skills for the creative and cultural industries

“I accepted without hesitation this new role that puts me in close contact with students,“ said Hearn, who himself attended Inseec and New York’s Fordham University, and also studied philosophy and art history at the Sorbonne and the Louvre school. “As the cultural sector has become more professional so it has given new life to its entrepreneurs, even if their perception by the outside world tends to always oppose creation and the economy.”

A golden chance for students

In his role as patron, Steve Hearn will be present throughout the programme thanks to initiatives such as masterclasses, visits to his Créatis incubator, access to his professional network, projects with startups and other firms, possible recruitment for his Scintillo holding, etc.

The Master of Science in Management & Entrepreneurship in the Creative Economy, launched by Audencia Business School and Glasgow School of Art will open in September 2017. Taught in English in Nantes and Glasgow, it will welcome around 15 students who have already followed creative studies  (art, cinema, music, fashion, etc). The curriculum will include both management classes and others especially developed by the two schools. These will be completed by practical work and entrepreneurial projects with tutors.
